Purpose - 1. To bring general ethical issues forwarded by NRC members to the attention of the Board.
- 2. To facilitate and encourage discussion of ethical issues among the NRC community.
Membership and Representation Membership in the Ethics ICG is open to all voting NRC members. The Ethics ICG must secure a membership subscription of no fewer than 25 members as shown by letters of members wishing to participate in it (these may be in the form of e-mails or written correspondence submitted to the ICG Chair) in order to remain viable and functioning within NRC. The Ethics ICG Chair shall represent the interests and concerns of their ICGs at the Board of Directors Meeting and shall present the Board with a written report of their ICG's activity at each Board of Directors Meeting. Tasks - 1. An ongoing task is to find and implement a variety of opportunities for the NRC membership to bring up, discuss, consider, and, if desired, respond to general ethical issues currently arising in relation to literacy research and/or education.
- 2. Another task is to solicit issues from the membership prior to the annual meeting through the NRC listserv and the Newsletter.
